La Nostra Storia

We are Italian

Raised in the north of Italy but familiar with the south. At table we have a burning passion for piccante. When we travel, we always look for a bottle of olio di peperoncino at meals, and we have always been disappointed with what we found . . . IF we found anything at all.

Sometimes the olive oil wasn’t Italian in origin. Other times it was an inferior quality (not extra-virgin). Very often the heat wasn’t fiery enough. Or it was chemically produced – not at all natural.

We found a fantastic EVOO in Italy’s heartland, Tuscany. It’s a perfect conduit for our selected peperoncini from the south, richly fired, pungent, and rigorosamente da Calabria.

Our Ingredients

ODP olives are harvested by hand or
semi-manually. They are cold-pressed
within eight hours of harvesting to
maximize their flavor. The fire in our
capsicum is the result of hot sun,
iron-rich soil, and dry weather — exactly
what you find in Calabria.

the best of the
north and the south

Our olives come exclusively from Tuscany. They are more pungent and peppery than olives from other Italian regions because they are picked earlier, when the fruit is still a mix of green and purple. This results in a more assertive oil.

Our Calabrian peperoncini are a savvy mixture of Naso di Cane (the hottest), Guglia (spicy and assertive), Sigaretta (perfumed), and Ceraso (the sweetest in heat).
